Tell us what's happening

We reply by email with a visit window, usually the same working day.

Start with the symptom

What are you seeing?

Pick the panel closest to your problem. Each one says what we check, what you can safely do now, and what a visit usually looks like.

Leaks & drips

Stains, damp smells, a meter that ticks with every tap off.

  • We checkJoints, valves, flexi hoses and hidden runs, using moisture readings to narrow the source.
  • Do this nowClose the nearest isolation valve, or the main stop valve if water is spreading.
  • Visit shapeMost are found and repaired in one visit. Hidden pipework may need a second.
Report a leak

Slow drains

Gurgling, standing water, or smells that come back after cleaning.

  • We checkTraps, venting and the line itself, with a camera where the blockage sits out of reach.
  • Do this nowStop using that outlet. Skip chemical cleaners, they make clearing harder and less safe.
  • Visit shapeClearing plus a camera look, with footage shared so you can see the cause.
Book a drain check

Hot water

Lukewarm showers, a noisy tank, or water that runs cold too soon.

  • We checkThermostat, elements or burner, relief valve, sediment and tank condition.
  • Do this nowNote the unit's make and age from its label. Don't adjust the relief valve.
  • Visit shapeRepair where it's worth it. Replacement options are written up if it isn't.
Ask about hot water

Fixtures

New taps, toilets, basins and shower sets, or swapping tired ones.

  • We checkExisting connections, valve access and whether your chosen fitting suits the pressure.
  • Do this nowSend the product name if you've already bought one, so we arrive with the right parts.
  • Visit shapeUsually a planned half-day. Old fittings go with us.

How a visit runs

One visit, four checkpoints

The same order every time, so you always know what happens next and nothing gets decided without you.

  1. 01

    Heads-up before arrival

You get a message when the plumber sets off, with their name and a realistic arrival time.

  2. 02

    Diagnosis first

We find and show you the cause, with photos or camera footage where it's hidden.

  3. 03

    Written options

A fix-now option and, where relevant, a longer-term one. Each is fixed in writing before we start.

  4. 04

    Clean handover

We run the system, check for drips, clear the area and explain anything you should keep an eye on.

No surprises on the bill

You approve the price before the wrench comes out.

If we uncover something unexpected halfway through, we stop, show you, and re-quote. The work only continues when you say so.

Before we arrive

Five things that save time

None of these are required, but each one shortens the visit.

  • Find your main stop valve

Often under the kitchen sink, near the meter, or where the supply enters the house. Check it turns.

  • Clear the cupboard or cabinet

Under-sink storage, bath panels and laundry shelves are the usual places we need to reach.

  • Take two photos

One close-up of the problem and one wider shot. Reply to our email with them if you can.

  • Note when it happens

Only when the shower runs? Only at night? Timing points straight to the cause.

  • Keep pets and parking in mind

A closed door for pets and a nearby spot for the van keep tools and parts close.

Common questions

Do you quote before starting?

Yes. After diagnosis you get written options with a fixed price for each. Nothing starts until you pick one.

Can you quote from photos alone?

For straightforward fixture swaps, often yes. Leaks, drains and hot water faults need a look on site, because the visible symptom is rarely where the problem starts.

Do I need to be home for the visit?

For the diagnosis, ideally yes, so we can walk you through the options. For approved planned work, a trusted person or an agreed key arrangement is fine.

Who supplies the parts?

We carry common valves, traps and fittings. If you'd like a particular tap or toilet, buy it and send us the product name, and we'll check it suits your pipework first.

Will there be mess?

We lay down covers, work from a tool mat and take old fittings and packaging with us. If a wall or floor has to be opened, we agree that with you in writing beforehand.

I rent. Can I book you directly?

You can report the problem to us, but most repairs need your landlord or agent's approval. We'll put the diagnosis and options in writing so you can forward them.

Do you work on gas water heaters?

Water-side faults, valves and connections, yes. Anything on the gas supply or burner is handled by a licensed gas fitter, and we'll say so clearly in your options.

Something dripping right now?

Turn off the nearest valve, then send us a request.
